Past Sessions
Ficciones This up-and-coming Austin band took the time and the chance to film our first session. They were also kind enough to film over 10 takes (it's not easy to walk backwards with a camera and not fall going down the stairs!). The end result is a very intimate session filmed in the basement of the Taos Coop, which is across the street from the University of Texas campus. |
Tokyo Police Club Tokyo Police Club took some time off their busy schedule to film a session with us just prior to sound check. Despite freezing conditions (25 degrees in Austin is actually very, very cold), the band was kind enough to unload some of their equipment and perform at the Backstage Bar, just behind La Zona Rosa. |
Balmorhea - Truth Austin's Balmorhea was kind enough to let us crash one of their rehearsals to shoot this session. The featured track "Truth" is off their excellent "All is Wild, All is Silent" album. |
Forest City Lovers - If I Were a Tree We were lucky to get Forest City Lovers in for a quick session during SXSW. We were also very fortunate to get the fine folks at Jerri Kunz Interior Design to allow us to invade their incredible space to film this and two other sessions. Please take a little time and enjoy this great song. And if you like what you hear, please pick up the band's latest album "Carriage". |
Neon Windbreaker - Furniture
Neon Windbreaker is better known for their electrifying live shows and their hardcore delivery. Here, they take it down several notches and offer a melodious rendition of their track “Furniture”. This, as they say, is the “acoustic test”. |
Chikita Violenta - Laydown
Mexico City’s Chikita Violenta escaped the crazy commotion that is SXSW to film an intimate performance of “Laydown”. This is the second session filmed at the Jerri Kunz Interior Design studio during the festival. The band's Tre3s album is easily one of the best releases to date this year. |
The Sour Notes - Psychological Thriller Austin's The Sour Notes met us on West 10th and Baylor Street to do a performance of their standout track "Psychological Thriller." We were blessed to have one of the local "residents" of the area show us a bit of his own art as you will see in the opening shots of the session. The location is part of the largest outdoor gallery in Austin and supports the HOPE campaign. |
Love Inks - Blackeye
Filmed at Florence's Comfort House in Austin, where bejeweled guitars and eclectic art line the walls, the video offers an intimate rendition of Love Inks' stand-out track "Blackeye," as well as a brief but insightful discussion with singer Sherry LeBlanc about the song's origin. If you have not done so already, please pick their excellent LP, "E.S.P." |
Nurses - New Feelings During a quick stop in Austin, Nurses chanced getting run over by a train to film this session. The Oregon band remained in good spirits despite us changing location in the last minute. Please pick up their wonderful new LP "Dracula". |
Dan Mangan - Oh Fortune Filmed in Austin's historic downtown O. Henry House, Dan Mangan performed the title track off his excellent new album "Oh Fortune". His voice brought to life the pictures lining this 1800's home. Thanks to the city staff that stayed open just a bit late to let us film this session. |
